Terms & Conditions
Please read these product terms and conditions carefully as they set out the terms under which Smarter Homes Australia operates. You must read and agree with our terms and conditions before accepting a quote.
All communications regarding a Quote must be documented in writing either via email, website or social media. Where a verbal agreement has been made in person or over the phone, the client must provide a written quote acceptance within a 24 hour time period.
Quotes are valid for 30 days from date of issue. Any Quote accepted outside this time may require adjustments to factor in the current market rate of produts, materials and labour.
While all care is taken to ensure accuracy of pricing, there may be unforeseen or unexpected conditions or occurrences which alter the scope of works, and consequently the pricing. Any changes to a scope will require a revised Quote and may alter the job delivery date. Price adjustments will always be communicated prior to the works being complete.
Once a quote is accepted, booking availability will be sent through within 48 business hours to confirm the booking. Once the booking is confirmed, the price is fixed unless discussed prior to installation, with the exception of the scope of works changing.
All payments are to be made within 24 hours of the work being completed unless discussed prior. An invoice will be provided as soon as the job is completed with bank details on how to make payment. Please note, we do not accept credit cards on the day of installation. Cash will be accepted if we are informed prior.
For all jobs over $3,000, a 50% deposit will be required upon booking the installation to cover the cost of products and materials. The deposit is fully-refundable of cancellations are made prior to 48 hours notice of the scheduled job.
All cancellations must be made prior to 48 hours of the job commencing. Cancellations that are made within 48 hours of the job commencing will incur a fee of $250 to cover our employees time. Exemptions may be made depending on the circumstances of the cancellation such as sickness and unforeseen circumstances.
If reasonable attempts to contact you regarding an outstanding invoice fail, we will refer directly to QCAT or the appropriate government body to retrieve payment as required.
Product Warranty is dependant on the products selected on installation; typical warranty periods range from 1 year to 3 years. Lifetime Installation warranty is provided on any faulty works completed by us. This does not include general wear and tear, weather events and customer error.
Warranty claims, including swaps and adjustments will be scheduled as early as possible depending on the availability of our contractors and staff. As bookings can often be scheduled between 2 – 8 weeks in the future, the customer must allow for a fair timeframe for any warranty work to be completed.
Warranty does not cover storm or damages from elements of nature. If the product is deemed to be weather resistant and there has been a clear issue with the product sealing, this may be replaced under warranty. If there is a major storm and damages were caused to the product due to this we are not liable for the costs due to the unforeseen weather event.
Warranty does not cover works from other contractors not provided by Smarter Homes Australia, warranty will only cover the works completed by Smarter Homes Australia or a contractor that is provided by the company.
The Terms and Conditions of this quotation, and if accepted, the terms and conditions of this agreement, are confidential and are not to be disclosed to any other person or body, without the prior written consent of Smarter Homes Australia.
Changes to Scope
Changes to a job’s scope may be made on the day of installation depending on a number of external factors. If there is a change in scope the customer will always be informed of any adjustments inclusive of product, price and installation specifics.
